Turn a newsletter story into a short vertical video
A newsletter issue is written for subscribers. One strong story from it can also reach people who have never heard of you. Paste the issue’s web version and Storyvalo drafts a vertical video around one story, with a closing invitation to subscribe.
Opens the studio with an editable newsletter to video brief. Sign in or create a free account first; nothing is generated or charged until you continue.
A good fit when
- Your newsletter has a public web version or archive.
- Each issue has one story strong enough to stand alone.
- You want growth for the newsletter, not just views.
The closest real example
This vertical export turns an original article into a short point of view with a next step, the same shape a newsletter story video needs.
Fictional demonstration: the brand, source and scenario were invented for this example. It is not a customer testimonial or evidence of business results. Watch it with its source and script.
Newsletter to video, step by step
Paste the web version
Use the issue’s public archive link. If it only exists as an email, upload it as text.
Pick one story
The starter chooses one story and explains why it matters. Name the story in the brief if the issue has several.
Check the details
Make sure names, dates and links match the issue. Remove anything only subscribers should see.
Render vertical
Render a 9:16 video for Shorts, Reels or TikTok, ending with how to subscribe.
Write the hook first
Vertical viewers decide in a second or two. Edit the first scene so it states the most interesting fact or question from the story immediately, with no introduction.
Respect sources you quote
Newsletters often summarise other people’s work. Attribute it in the video as the issue does, and do not present quoted material as your own.
Make it a habit
Pick the same slot after each issue, such as the morning after sending, and use the same brief each time. A predictable series builds an audience faster than occasional videos.
The starter brief
“Use this starter” fills in this brief in the studio. Edit any of it before you generate a storyboard.
Turn the main story of my newsletter issue into a vertical video for people who do not subscribe yet. Pick one story, explain why it matters to the reader, give the key detail, and end by inviting viewers to subscribe. Use only facts from my source. Do not invent statistics, prices, quotes, customer names or results.
Review before you publish
Storyvalo drafts the script and assembles the video; you decide what is accurate. Read every scene against its source, check names, numbers and claims, and only use material you have permission to use. Stock footage and AI illustrations are illustrative, and narration is AI-generated.
What it costs
One 60-second, watermarked 720p export per verified account each calendar month. It ends with a short “Made with Storyvalo” card over its last two seconds. Standard voices and still or stock media. No payment card, no automatic subscription. Paid exports stay 1080p without the Storyvalo watermark. A free account includes five minutes of AI script attempts each calendar month, an editable storyboard and an interactive preview, with no card. Rendering a narrated video uses video minutes: export one minute for $2.99 or three minutes for $7.99, plus applicable tax, without a subscription. Monthly plans suit regular production and longer videos. Compare plans and packs.
Questions
Can I paste the email itself?
Save or copy the email text into a .txt file and upload it, removing tracking links and personal details first.
Can I make one video per issue?
Yes. Each project is separate; drafting is included in your monthly AI script allowance, and rendering uses video minutes.
Does Storyvalo post the video for me?
Download the MP4 and post it on your channels yourself.
