Turn release notes into a product update video
Release notes record what shipped; customers want to know what they can do now. Paste your release note or changelog page and Storyvalo drafts a vertical update video around up to three changes that matter. The written note stays the record of what shipped, and the video helps people notice it.
Opens the studio with an editable release notes to video brief. Sign in or create a free account first; nothing is generated or charged until you continue.
A good fit when
- You ship regularly and announce changes in a changelog or release note.
- A few changes in the release matter to customers.
- You want a short video for social, email or in-app announcements.
The closest real example
A fictional release-note webpage became this vertical update with three clear changes, the exact structure this starter uses.
Fictional demonstration: the brand, source and scenario were invented for this example. It is not a customer testimonial or evidence of business results. Watch it with its source and script.
Release notes to video, step by step
Paste the release note
Use the public changelog or release-note URL. If the note is still a draft, upload it as a text or Markdown file.
Choose the headline changes
The starter limits the video to three changes and leaves minor fixes out. Edit the brief to name the changes you want featured.
Show the real interface
Upload screenshots of the new feature and use them as originals in the scenes that describe it. Stock and AI images cannot show your product.
Publish next to the note
Render in portrait for social, or copy to landscape for the changelog page. Link the video to the written note so people can find details and caveats.
Lead with the outcome
“You can now export reports as PDF” is clearer than “we shipped the export service refactor”. Write the first scene from the customer’s point of view and keep internal names out of narration.
Mind availability
If a change is rolling out gradually, limited to some plans or in beta, say so exactly as your note does. A video that promises everyone a feature they cannot find creates support tickets.
The starter brief
“Use this starter” fills in this brief in the studio. Edit any of it before you generate a storyboard.
Turn my release notes into a vertical product update. Lead with what customers can do now, explain no more than three changes, say who each change helps, and end with how to try it. Leave out minor fixes. Do not invent availability dates or plan limits.
Review before you publish
Storyvalo drafts the script and assembles the video; you decide what is accurate. Read every scene against its source, check names, numbers and claims, and only use material you have permission to use. Stock footage and AI illustrations are illustrative, and narration is AI-generated.
What it costs
One 60-second, watermarked 720p export per verified account each calendar month. It ends with a short “Made with Storyvalo” card over its last two seconds. Standard voices and still or stock media. No payment card, no automatic subscription. Paid exports stay 1080p without the Storyvalo watermark. A free account includes five minutes of AI script attempts each calendar month, an editable storyboard and an interactive preview, with no card. Rendering a narrated video uses video minutes: export one minute for $2.99 or three minutes for $7.99, plus applicable tax, without a subscription. Monthly plans suit regular production and longer videos. Compare plans and packs.
Questions
Can I paste a changelog in Markdown?
Yes. Upload a .md or .txt file, or paste the public changelog URL.
How long should an update video be?
One minute is enough for one to three changes. Bigger launches can use longer videos on monthly plans.
Can I make the same update in several languages?
Narration is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. Create a draft per language and review each script with a fluent speaker.
