Turn a Google Doc into a video for your team
Teams record decisions, processes and plans in Google Docs, then ask everyone to read them. Download the doc as PDF or plain text, upload it, and Storyvalo turns it into a short narrated video that explains why the document exists, what it records, and where to find it.
Opens the studio with an editable google doc to video brief. Sign in or create a free account first; nothing is generated or charged until you continue.
A good fit when
- A doc needs to be understood by people who will not read all of it.
- It records a decision, process or plan.
- The doc owner can review the video before it is shared.
The closest real example
This video came from a fictional internal process document, the kind of team doc this workflow is designed for.
Fictional demonstration: the brand, source and scenario were invented for this example. It is not a customer testimonial or evidence of business results. Watch it with its source and script.
Google Doc to video, step by step
Download the doc
In Google Docs, choose File, Download, then PDF or plain text. Only the file you download is shared with Storyvalo.
Upload it
Choose Upload and add the file. Add a second doc if the video must combine them.
Edit the team brief
The starter explains why the doc exists, what it records and who to contact. Add the doc’s link in the call to action if it should be opened afterwards.
Render and share internally
Render the video and share an expiring link, or post the MP4 in your team’s workspace.
Remove what should not be shared
Internal docs often contain names, comments or draft ideas. Download a clean copy with only the content the video should use.
Link the living document
Docs change; videos do not update themselves. End the video by pointing to the doc as the current version, and re-render when the substance changes.
The starter brief
“Use this starter” fills in this brief in the studio. Edit any of it before you generate a storyboard.
Turn the uploaded document (downloaded from Google Docs) into a narrated video for my team. Summarise why the document exists, explain the decisions or steps it records, and close with who to contact or where the document lives. Use only facts from my source. Do not invent statistics, prices, quotes, customer names or results.
Review before you publish
Storyvalo drafts the script and assembles the video; you decide what is accurate. Read every scene against its source, check names, numbers and claims, and only use material you have permission to use. Stock footage and AI illustrations are illustrative, and narration is AI-generated.
What it costs
One 60-second, watermarked 720p export per verified account each calendar month. It ends with a short “Made with Storyvalo” card over its last two seconds. Standard voices and still or stock media. No payment card, no automatic subscription. Paid exports stay 1080p without the Storyvalo watermark. A free account includes five minutes of AI script attempts each calendar month, an editable storyboard and an interactive preview, with no card. Rendering a narrated video uses video minutes: export one minute for $2.99 or three minutes for $7.99, plus applicable tax, without a subscription. Monthly plans suit regular production and longer videos. Compare plans and packs.
Questions
Can Storyvalo open my Google Drive?
This workflow uses a downloaded file, so you choose exactly what is shared. Some workspaces may have an optional Drive connector; it is not needed here.
Will the video update if the doc changes?
No. Upload the new version and render again when the content changes.
Can I keep a diagram from the doc?
Download the diagram as an image or the doc as PDF, then show the image or page as an original visual.
